Hello, merhabalar!
If we succeed in sticking to our tight time schedule, we will leave for Turkey in one week... Huge amounts of work and preparations have to be done before we leave, but let's see and aim for the 1st of June. We are going by car, to be completely free in Turkey to go wherever we want, not leaving aside the small villages of course. We will stay in Turkey for at least 2 months, and longer if needed. We will visit a whole series of regions, reaching from the very west to the far east. We start in Izmir and environment (the Aegean region), next we go to Emirdag, then Ankara and Kirshehir (Central-Anatolia). We will drive along the Black Sea coast to reach Kars in the north-eastern corner of the country. Last destinations will probably be Erzurum and Sivas.
Our way from Belgium to Turkey will be the southern route: after Germany we will drive to the south of Italy and take the ferry to Greece there. From Greece we enter Turkey and by use of another, short, trip by ferry we reach the 'Asian' side of Turkey. Any tips are welcome, if you have experience with driving long distances or driving in Turkey, don't hesitate to share your experiences!
So long for now, greetings from inside the car between Antwerpen and Gent! ;-)

    Liselotte Sels:

I see that the Turkish characters are not recognized by this blog... I will try to use the English transcription from now on: Inshallah, Emirdag, Kirshehir,...
